The 4% Irish Lunar Fiesta

It's Happy Hour! Matthew crafts a jig-worthy Irish Maid for St. Patrick's Day, while Ben conjures a bewitching Blood Moon Daiquiri that'll have you howling. Will they find the pot of gold at the end of the cocktail rainbow, or just get lost in lunar madness? Recipes below.

Irish Maid

  • 2 slices cucumber, cut into quarter-inch slices
  • 2 ounces Irish whiskey
  • 1/2 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • Garnish: cucumber slice

Muddle the cucumber slices in a shaker. Add the Irish whiskey, St-Germain, lemon juice and simple syrup into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Fine-strain into a chilled rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a cucumber slice.

Blood Mood Daiquiri

  • 1 1/2 ounces blended light Rum (Probitas)
  • 1/2 ounce Pot Distilled overproof rum (Smith + Cross)
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce blood orange juice
  • 1/2 ounce Orgeat

Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake for 10-12 seconds. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a floating blood orange wheel.
